My name is Ana and to work with people and music is my passion.
I studied French horn at the Higher Conservatory of Castilla y León (COSCYL, Spain). During that time I trained as a leisure and free time activities instructor, which gave me the opportunity to work with children, young people and adults in different areas with the purpose of having fun.
When I did my final thesis on “The effects and benefits of music on people” I discovered music therapy and became very interested in the possibilities of working with people through music. For this reason, I decided to train as a music therapist at the Instituto de Música, Arte y Proceso of Vitoria (Spain).

In addition, I took a master’s degree in the complementary subject of pedagogical education in music at the University of Oviedo (Spain). So I am qualified to teach music for students in vocational training, high school and music school.
During my third year of training as a music therapist, I moved to Malmö, where I worked in various jobs, learned Swedish and completed my internship as a music therapist in projects that I really enjoyed and learned a lot. I have also continued to educate myself in music therapy through courses held by music therapists from different parts of the world.
My first project as a music therapist in Sweden was with Helsingborg’s Red Cross within a project called Kaleidoscope, which targeted young people who were at risk of social exclusion. The project’s main target group was unaccompanied youth aged 18–25. The overall goal of the project was to strengthen young people’s participation, empowerment, facilitate their social integration into society and offer support to improve their mental health and to reduce the risks of homelessness. The work within the music therapy sessions focused on emotional management.
Another project I was involved in Sweden was at the International Women’s Association in Malmö (IKF), where I also developed a music therapy plan. The group consisted of women living in Malmö who came from other countries where there has been or is a war conflict. Most with health problems related to bad mood, a lot of exhaustion and homesickness. The project focused on integration, health and well-being.
Kreativ Musikterapi
After looking for options to work in music therapy, I decided to create Creative Music Therapy. Through this space, I want to announce what music therapy is and its benefits, and make music therapy available to anyone who wants to try this therapeutic approach.
Through Kreativ Musikterapi I have run a workshop for children aged 1-3 at the Malmö library and worked with the RBU association in Lund and with the adapted school in Sjöbo in collaboration with the library in the same city.
